Bits of Tid (or 'Tidbits') from this Trip

......When you visit this part of the country -- Nevada, Utah, Arizona, you see the Saguaro cactus, (the one at the top of the page), as a symbol on a lot of things.  Funny thing is, though, the Saguaro cactus is only in the Sonoran Desert in southern Arizona, not the Mohave, where we were. Oh, and at the airport in Las Vegas.  ö

......The Cactus Wren, (pictured on page 7), is the state bird of Arizona

......They don't have a lot of Pay At The Pump gas stations in Las Vegas.  If you don't know what that is, it's a gas pump that allows you to pay right there with a credit card, rather than having to go inside to pay.

......There are seven Krispy Kreme stores in Las Vegas as of this writing...woo hoo!!!!

.......Don't feed burros Granny Smith apples.  Too tart, lots of drooling.  LOL.

.......The main water source in the state of Utah is snow runoff.  In late summer, the flow of all streams decreases and many dry up.

.......The California Seagull is the state bird of Utah?

.......If you want to see real scenes of Utah and the outside of Las Vegas, watch the movie "Duets" with Huey Lewis and Gwyneth Paltrow.  We saw it for the first time less than two weeks after our trip, coincidentally.

So that's our 20th Anniversary vacation.  It was a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend seeing Zion National Park (UT); the Grand Canyon, (AZ); Bryce Canyon, (UT); Cedar Breaks, (UT), and Red Rock Canyon in Nevada for those outdoors lovers and even for those who aren't.  It's an experience you'll never forget.  And thanks for sharing the experience with us!  :)
